MTV News caught up with Next Generation DJ winners Maya Vanya at Miami WMC. In the interview, posted yesterday, the New Zeeland sisters talk about promoting themselves to get votes in the NGDJ competition – and how their career has taken a leap after winning it:

“There’s so much opportunity out there for us now. We’re just really excited just to go with the flow and see what happens. And stick to our sound, that’s our main thing as well.”

Next Generation DJ judge Sebastian Ingrosso, interview with his Swedish House Mafia partners-in-crime Steve Angello and Axwell, adds:

“They’re gonna move to Europe for the summer…we’re gonna work together. They’re doing tracks in the studio and getting ready to launch their tour. They’re doing stuff with me and they’re doing stuff with Deadmau5 in Ibiza. Hopefully we can get them to Pacha.”

What’s up world, Miami WMC 2010 is on! After a slight delay in trans-Atlantic communications, here is NGDJ winners Maya Vanya’s report from their first ever day in Miami, including DJ Mag and Ultra parties, tropical tech house craziness and friends in the ever-present swimming pool.

Just landed, all beat up but ready to rock after the flight. DJ Craze and our friend Jillionaire were on the same flight as us from LAX.

The influential Newsroom blog on MTV.com is making predictions for Miami Winter Music Conference – and we love what we’re reading. In a post this Friday, MTV.com’s Adam Stewart named Maya Vanya as an “Artist to Watch” at Miami WMC:

“Maya Vanya may just be the hottest things that New Zealand has spawned since the prehistoric creation of the Taupo Volcanic Zone. The buzz that this sister duo is creating around the global electronic music community is nothing short of just that: Volcanic.”

Next Generation DJ winners Maya Vanya are currently locked down in their Auckland studio, preparing for what will no doubt be the most hectic week of their DJ:ing career so far: This year’s Miami Winter Music Conference.
