Yay, the NGDJ finals have finally begun! For NGDJ Stage 2, the mixes must contain a track produced by the competing DJ, or a remix or re-edit based on another artist’s track. But the DJ:s also need to demonstrate that they can create a brand concept around themselves in terms of name, appearance, promotional style and graphics. The finals are designed to try and test the DJ’s musical talent and ability to create an artist persona for themselves. Both skills are necessary to succeed in today’s competitive dance music business.
So how are the NGDJ finalists doing? They have until February 13th to submit their finals mix, and until February 22nd to update their user profiles with anything they feel is relevant in terms of making a name for themselves. Four DJ:s have already submitted their mixes for the NGDJ finals. Check them out below or on the NGDJ page – or add the NGDJ Finals Mixes box to your Let’s mix user profile by selecting it from the Add section drop down menu when logged in to your account.

Really diggin’ the Elastic Sound mix. Not sure what the judges will think about only having 6 tracks in 30 minutes (maybe they don’t care about that stuff as much as I do) seeing as this is a competition though… The AquaSand mix is pretty good too…

Last 2 mix are over 30 min…..why they are qualif.???

Regarding mix length of over 30 minutes: What you are referring to is the part of The NGDJ Finals instructions headlined “Compliancy with rules”. “Compliancy” means that if a contestant wish to submit mixes longer than the stipulated 30 mins, they are free to do so. But it will likely affect the overall judgement of the mix negatively.

For James PromoNYC just a short info , WMC is about electronic music , from house to d&b to trance.
Music is about taste, maybe to you it doesn’t but to others it does.
And as for the WMC you are totally wrong, don’t insult contestant with those kind of comments, once again music is all about the taste.
