A quick note regarding the NGDJ Qualifiers: Leading up to the end of NGDJ Stage 1, we will be investigating all Qualifier mixes. Voting patterns related to accounts or mixes which are in breach of the NGDJ Terms and Conditions may lead to any of the following:
- Votes being retracted
- Mixes being denoted from Qualifier status
- The banning of Letsmix.com accounts
In addition to this we would like to inform you that this procedure might also affect mix rating averages and vote totals. All decisions and results following this investigation are final.
For more information, please refer to the Terms and Conditions for NGDJ: http://www.letsmix.com/ngdj/terms_and_conditions.

Very good.
I don’t know why you didn’t make another voting procedure. My idea:
1. The vote button to be enabled only after the mix was listened at least 30 min
2. The rate of the mix to be shown only after the vote was placed.
3. The competitors shouldn’t be able to vote other mixes. The actual situation is not very good cause some of the “djs” here are not acquainted with the term FAIR PLAY and are not open minded.
4. The owner of the mix should be able to see a review of the votes he received on each day (how much stars has each vote).
At the end I want to add something… I don’t know how it’s possible, but from my PC I could vote more times (my family voted – all valid e-mails – there were about 4 votes I guess). I wanted to tell you cause I want to play fair in this contest. I don’t like cheat, cause it’s in my own loss.
PS: If anyone like to listen and vote my mix:

I absolutely agree with everything djpaulgabriel said.
I didn’t vote much because I wanted to rate only mixes that I listened & liked. I played fair, otherwise, like djpaulgabriel said, it will be my own loss.
It would be great if competitors weren’t able to vote. After qualifying my rate went down, down, dooown…

It’s weird how a mix has 100 listenings and 500 votes. LOL

I qualified last night and tis morning I had over 65 votes. My rating went way down. I hope it is recified at the end.

Can we start a blog listing people that are knowingly and obviously claiming 5 stars, leaving 1 not listening to the mix and asking for 5 stars in return?
Comment by bayrock — January 28, 2010 @ 04:52
I think lets mix really needs to think twice about this situation. I qualified early in the competition with a 4.6 and within 5 days of qualifying my average plunged to a 3.9. I believe this has been true of many of the qualifiers.
Comment by enrique — January 28, 2010 @ 18:06
There is a very very long list… trust me… you should spend days and nights doing that list and is worthless…
But I can help you with some names.

The 1 star voting sucks. But this is a competition. People are going to do whatever they can to make there chances better. I have around 400 votes but only 97 listens. But I have a big social network and people will vote for me cause they have heard me play out before or I have sent them one of my mixes through a download link. I’ve done other competitions were other peoples friends come through and vote you down. It’s not just the ones in the competition. We have to remember everyone is a DJ. It’s funny how many people DJ. And a lot of them suck. It can be a fun hobby but leave the clubs and shows to the talented ones. A lot of them get shows because they are friends with so and so. But true talent, hard work and passion always win in the end.

I agree with djpaulgabriel as well. I think this contest sucked due to unfair rating system. I would love my mix to be heard and voted on evenly. This rip off contest was good for one thing, everybody’s playlists, thanks NGDJ!
Comment by barberstylz — January 29, 2010 @ 19:15
@curtis matthew You are right… but look. My mix was a good one: 4.6 and not only friends voted me… maybe 1/4 are friends… the rest I gained on the site, social networks, blogs, forums and so… promoting promoting…
And now my work is now=0 because those voters. This 1 star vote makes them better? What they have to gain? My ratio is down with 0.3 in 3 hours. What a shame.. shame shame shame…
I can’t wait to meet those people to see what they are capable of: I provoke anyone of those.. to see their true skill (beside the skill of mousing 1 star – I have to recognize I’m not good at that).
Cowards!!!!

I wish that was the truth bro, but it is simply not. Getting a DJ gig/residency is 90% who you know, regardless of talent level. I spin residencies in 3 states, and not one of those came solely because of my skills behind the wheels. I realized early on that, knowing somebody who knows somebody, and overall networking, is the key. Just a reality. With that said, you would think I could pick and choose where I play? Wrong, same principles apply. Even in my hometown I cant spin everywhere I want. Why? Because the same 5 guys play the all hotspots. And while a couple of them are decent djs, they keep out the dozens of others that could keep the local scene “fresh”. But yo, it is what is playa. My advice to all up and comers: practice, practice, practice…..then go out and network, with everyone. Being a full time DJ is like being a full time salesperson, and in the end, the sale comes to down to perception of the product. In this case, that product is YOU. Now, it doesn’t take a lot of time to become a decent Serato/Club DJ. It does however, take time to rock a 3 hour set, complete with surprises, and have the dance floor in the palm of your hands when the lights come up. Nothing beats that. ———– Big ups to all local DJs holding down their scene. Peace!!

i’m afraid !! some qualifiers has a bad tracklist , my mix is not the most bad or the most best , but i don”t understand why some mix have many hundred of votes and for my mix some votes ( 70 ) , i have publishing my mix on social network and forum and friends !!!

I’ll follow a time DJ Exerion, and when he was quallified he had a vote rating of 4.9 and now he has in 1 day a vote rating of 4.3, thats only through those 1 star voters. I hope the points of the vote rating has come back to everyone. Only than it is a fair game.
Comment by weseykone — January 30, 2010 @ 22:08
I work in an office with over 100 people (all the office computers work of one/two IP address). I send a group email out to every person asking to vote. But since only one vote can be made from an IP address many people set up a personal account so they could get their vote in. Is this illegal?
Comment by oddball — January 31, 2010 @ 19:45
I agree with the voting that p. gabriel mentioned. I came on board late, but even the fact that people have to sign up to vote is a bit deterring. Aside, if you’d like to hear my mix, here’s the link: http://www.letsmix.com/mix/29031/dj_nova_jade___in_it_to_win_it_flashforward_mix
